Clackamas River Basin Council starts spring activities off with a bang
The birds are chirping and the flowers are blooming, announcing the official start of spring for the Clackamas River Basin Council’s (CRBC) calendar of activities. Already, the council has snuck in during the April days promising spring, a successful Earth Day Celebration, a Volunteer Restoration Work Party, and a Natural City Guided Tour.
Now that May has arrived, CRBC plans to present a timely, free, Pesticide Workshop, scheduled for Saturday, May 10th, 3:00-5:00 p.m., in Boring Fire Department’s meeting room, 28655 S.E. Highway 212, Boring, Oregon (next to the Boring Post Office).
The Pesticide Workshop will be presented in two segments: (1) summarization of the recent study performed by the United States Geological Service (USGS) about pesticide in the Clackamas River watershed, and (2) discussions of (a) the impact of pesticides on water quality, (b) how you can reduce your pesticide use on your lawn and garden, and (c) how to use pesticides properly if their use is unavoidable.
Space at the Pesticide Workshop is limited to the first 50 registrants, so pre-registration is requested. Register by emailing: laura@clackamasriver.org.
For more information about current or future activities, contact Laura Offerman at laura@clackamasriver.org, (503) 558-0550, or visit clackamasriver.org.
