November 3-"Identity Theft"
B. Francisco reported someone obtained a Sprint cell phone account in her name.
Francisco said that she received a call from a collection agency informing her
that Sprint had assigned her account to them to collect a delinquent bill in
the amount of $880.08. She said the call caught her by surprise because she
does not and never has had an account with Sprint. Francisco said she is also
concerned because the same thing happened to her husband two years ago and she
is not aware of any mail thefts, car prowls, or break-ins so she doesn't know
how her personal information is being stolen.
November 8-"Theft II"
Officer D. Wray was dispatched by radio on a report of a used stolen credit
card at the Gresham Comfort Inn & Suites. On scene he spoke with an employee
who said a woman, Hinchliff, had calle dher on the phone to say her credit card
had been stolen and that it had recently been used at the hotel. The employee
stated that she had taken a carbon copy of the card and rented the room to a
"skinny white female with long brown hair." Additionally, Newman stated
that a white male with blond hair accompanied her. The hotel employee said she
had not checked ID on the female and just took the credit card and ran it through.
"I should have checked ID, but I didn't, It's my fault, I should have confirmed
her ID.
November 10-"Theft II"
Ms. Miseje reported that P. Bodie, her great grandson, had stolen her Key Bank
credit card and obtained money from her account at an ATM. Miseje discovered
her card had been stolen on November 9 and told her grandson, R. Bunch that
his son had stolen her card. Bunch later recovered the debit card from Bodie
and returned it to Miseje. Bunch stated that Bodie admitted to stealing the
debit card but offered no explanation or apology for stealing his great grandmother's
card.
November 12-"PCS II"
D. Gonzalez was aressted for possession of a controlled substance II after
a consent search persuant to a bicycle stop revealed meth and marijuana in his
possession. After being arrested and transported to the Gresham Police Department,
Gonzalez admitted that he had been doing meth "on and off for the past
couple of summers." When asked what he got out of doing meth, Gonzalez
said, "Trouble, nothing but trouble."
November 12-"Theft II"
Gresham K-Mart contacted the Gresham Police Department regarding a shoplifter
in custody. Reporting officer, M. Dalby arrived at the scene and contacted R.
Ingledue, Loss Prevention for K-Mart, who told officer Dalby that he saw L.
Lamberton leave the store without paying for numerous items including a toy
car, batteries, and a blow dryer. Upon being read her Miranda rights Officer
Dalby asked Lamberton why he was called to the K-Mart store. Lamberton replied,
"I made an irresponsible decision," and explained that she stole the
items for christmas gifts because she didn't have any money.
November 13-"Forgery II"
At the end of October, T. Webster received a call from her bank telling her
that her account was several hundred dollars overdrawn. When Webster checked
into the situation, she discovered that someone had used her account to make
five pizza purchases totalling more than $150.00 between 10/11 and 10/20 and
to pay a $225.00 phone bill on 10/20. Webster subsequently closed her account
and surrendered her debit card to the bank.
November 13-"Criminal Mischief III"
An unknown person used a magic marker to write gang graffiti on C. Vandenberg's
car while it was parked at the Rockwood Library. The suspect wrote: "13
por vida" and "18 for like."
November 14-"Recovered vehicle"
Officer Uray noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on Division missing its front
wheels. He ran the plates and the vehicle came back as a stolen vehicle. Uray
had the vehicle towed at which time he noticed the stereo and speakers were
missing.
